ACS
One aspect of amateur radio is being able to help when disaster strikes. During April tornadoes members of ACS, the Auxiliary Communications Service, worked through the Bradley - Cleveland Emergency Management Agency helping them provide services to those in need.
When severe weather threatens Bradley County, many amateurs take watch on the sky to report severe conditions to the National Weather Service via a VHF repeater. ACS members were on the air much of the day as six rounds of severe weather affected Bradley County that day.
Regular ACS meetings are normally held on the third Thursday of the month at 7 p.m. Meetings may be changed to a different day and time as a need exists.
